Finally, it is very important to have <strong>adequate physical preparation<\/strong> to withstand continuous exposure to the natural elements and prepare the body for the effort.\t\t<\/p>\n<h3> <\/h3>\n<h4>Navigating the desert without GPS<br \/>\n<\/h4>\n<p>\t\tWhen you are in the desert there are certainly no signs or directions, let alone GPS. So how do the Saharan nomadic populations find their way around? Thanks to their <strong>extraordinary photographic memory and sense of direction<\/strong>, nomadic peoples like the Touareg, the Toubou or the Sahamba manage to navigate any environment, including the desert, despite the absence of clear landmarks\t\t<\/p>\n<h3> <\/h3>\n<h4>Tea time with the nomads<\/h4>\n<p>What we call \u201cafternoon tea\u201d is one of the most important social practices of the Saharan people. <strong>A real ritual that signals the time of the day and breaks the monotony.<\/strong> Any time is a good time to make tea and is the first sign of hospitality towards a guest. Miraculous toner and foundation for social life, tea is a natural booster for nomads.<\/p>\n<h2>The richness of the Saharan landscape<\/h2>\n<p>Chad is a country dominated largely by the desert. <strong>The northeastern part of the Chadian Sahara is home to the Ennedi Region<\/strong> and its homonymous mountain range, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n<p>This peculiar and majestic system of <strong>sandstone mountains extends for about 60,000 km2<\/strong> and fascinates travellers with its bizarre rock formations. La parte nord-orientale del\u00a0<strong>Sahara ciadiano<\/strong>\u00a0ospita la regione dell\u2019<strong>Ennedi<\/strong>, e il suo omonimo massiccio montuoso, dal 2016\u00a0<strong>patrimonio mondiale dell\u2019UNESCO<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Un peculiare e\u00a0<strong>maestoso sistema di montagne arenacee<\/strong>\u00a0che si estende per circa 60.000 km2, questa formazione geologica affascina il viaggiatore per le sue\u00a0<strong>bizzarre formazioni rocciose\u00a0<\/strong>che danno vita a un dedalo di canyon e gole, intervallati piane sabbiose e dune.<\/p>\n<p>Uno dei luoghi pi\u00f9 suggestivi della regione sono senza dubbio le\u00a0<strong>gole di Arche\u00ef<\/strong>: dove un verdissimo fiume stagionale (ouadi) si snoda tra torri di arenaria, fino ad addentrarsi in una stretta gola che custodisce una splendida guelta, un bacino di raccolta di acqua piovana, dove sopravvivono quelli che sono gli ultimi esemplari di\u00a0<strong>coccodrillo sahariano\u00a0<\/strong><em>(Crocodylus suchus)<\/em>. Questi\u00a0<strong>guerrieri dallo spirito anarchico<\/strong>\u00a0misero a dura prova i colonizzatori francesi, e tutt\u2019oggi il loro spirito rimane indomito.<\/p>\n<p>Fulcro della societ\u00e0 toubou \u00e8 il\u00a0<strong>clan<\/strong>: un insieme di famiglie discendenti da un unico antenato comune, spesso mitizzato, in una linea che viene perpetuata di padre in figlio.
